All of our rooms vary
in size, floor plan, closet space and decor. Mr. Davenport used
many fine woods and marbles throughout his home and most of the
original bedrooms have been maintained.
In 1998 & 1999,
the Board of Trustees added six new bathrooms to the second floor
and upgraded and installed our safety systems. This major project
was accomplished in three stages. The first phase went so well
that central air conditioning was added throughout the first and
second floors. All of our guest rooms received new wallpaper,
emergency warning and call systems, and ceiling fans. All bathrooms
were remodeled to include new tile and commodes, a shower seat
and handheld showers. A step-in whirlpool tub now occupies the
original master bathroom.
While all the double
rooms have a private bath, some of the single rooms do share a
bath with one other room. Our rooms are furnished with a bed,
desk, nightstand and appropriate dressers. Guests are encouraged
to bring pictures and knickknacks to decorate their rooms. Depending
on the space available, Guest may bring in personal furniture,
with the consent of the director. Occasionally, Guests may be
asked to cooperate in changing their current room to another room,
for example moving from a double to a single room.
